Last Saturday afternoon, several thousand people gathered at the foot of Santon hill to watch battle scenes from the famous Battle of Three Emperors, which even at this time, 193 years after the original event on 2 December 1805, ended in victory for Napoleon’s troops. 450 soldiers in authentic uniforms, with over a dozen cannons and horses, lined up on the battlefield at Slavkov. Authentic taverns were set up at the military encampment where mead, roasted meat on a spit, and mulled wine were served.
